Christmas Day!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! I can't believe its over already...This year was especially fun since we have Jordyn. It was so fun to buy cute little toys, and get her all dressed up for all the fun parties! We woke up Christmas morning and did our presents, then got ready and headed up to Grandma Tootsies for a yummy breakfast..We stayed there for a while and played games. Then we took off to go to Grant's parents for the evening...We had such a great time being together with everyone!! Jordyn was very spoiled and got lots of fun things. She even got a new highchair(which she loves)!! Grant and I decided not to do many gifts this year for eachother, and keep it simple... I was able to get Grant a football signed by all the Utah players! (Thanks to a girl at work)He loved it!! It was actually kind of nice and less stressful to not go overboard and do as many presents as we usually do, and focus more on others. Maybe we''ll do this every year!!

On Christmas Eve we do our Norwegian traditions with my mom's side of the family. We start off the night by having a big Norwegian dinner! I had to make the cooked cabbage this year and it didn't turn out to bad! We had pork and Korv(which is a sausage)then cabbage and lots of other yummy food. All the tables were set with mom's Norwegian settings from tablecloths to candles. Then after dinner we go downstairs and dance around the christmas tree to Norwegian polka music. Its so much fun especially when good 'ol Grandma gets up and dances! Then a special visitor called a Julenissen(its a Norwegain santa claus)comes and visits and brings presents. The kids didn't even cry, and did a good job! Then we have dessert which is rice pudding with danish sauce. It is soooo yummy, and whoever finds the almond in it gets a prize(a marzipan pig or a firklover)! We had a great night and loved being together with the family!!

My baby is 6 months old!!!!

Wow! Jordyn is 6 months old already! Where has the time gone? It seems like we just had her yesterday, yet we've known her forever..Jordyn is the sweetest thing ever. Grant and I are so lucky to have such a beautiful and healthy little girl! She means the world to us and I can't ever imagine life without her. We took her to get her 6 month check up today, and she is healthy as can be. She weighs 14.1 lbs and is 24.6 inches long. She is in the 25% for weight and 20% for height. According to the Dr if she follows the outline of the chart, she will be 5"4 when she gets older! Ha ha I guess we'll see! She got her dreaded shots, and did alot better than last time:) Here are some things that Jordyn can do at 6 months*
*Sit up on her own
*Roll everywhere across the floor
*Talk and flirt with Daddy
*Laugh at peekaboo and Syd(our dog)
*Eat everything we do, she loves Coke:) thanks to DAD!
*Show off her two bottom teeth
*Sleep through the night in her crib(well most nights)
*Push herself up in the crawling position
We love you Jordy-Bug!!!!

Family party, Pajamas, and visit from Santa!!!

Our lovely pj's came with sleep masks!! So we had to try them out:)

Jordyn playing with her toys and sitting in her bag of presents!

Yesterday my Grandma Tootsie had her Famous shrimp dinner. She always has it the Sunday before Christmas... She seriously goes all out and prepares for it weeks in advance. She always has so much food and goodies!!! Then she gave everyone their presents. She always spoils us! This year was extra fun since we have lil Jordyn! She got so many fun presents from her Great Grandma...Then after the party we headed over to my Mom's to do our jammies, because Chad has to work on Christmas Eve and can't do them then. So we decided to do them last night. We opened all our pajamas and did pictures. Then we just sat around and talked and played games, then all of the sudden Santa walked in! Wow!! It was so funny, all of the kids were so surprised they didn't what to do. Most of them ran and hid or cried. I think it shocked the heck out of em, and weren't expecting it....They finally warmed up to Santa and sat on his lap! What a fun night. Jordyn was exhausted and overly tired from such a big day!

Friend Christmas party!!

Last night we had our monthly friend party! We had it at our house this time. We always have so much fun getting together with this group. It always gets pretty wild and crazy, you wouldn't be able to tell that half the group is either a cop or firefighter the way we act!! We ate Hawaiian haystacks and then did our white Elephants!! We had some crazy gifts...and I got one of em! I got these stress relief boob balls. They are hilarious and look so real! (sorry I couldn't post it they are to graphic!)Chad got this bug zapper that zaps and kills bugs. He didn't think it would work on his finger and tried it. The first couple times it didn't work and then the third time he tried it, the whole room lit up, and he jumped so bad, it shocked the heck out of him! Everyone was laughing so hard!!! Then we all just hung out and played games.. It was really nice not to have any kids to worry about to and just enjoy everyone!!

Yuck!!!

Jordyn loves to eat rice cereal and baby food! She always gets so excited and can never eat it fast enough. Well tonight I decided to try and give her prunes, since she's been a little clogged up:)..Ewwww I almost gagged just smelling it... I gave her the first bite and she spit it everywhere. She would not eat any of it, it was`so funny! Oh well, I can't say I blame her.

Gingerbread houses!

Every year my family gets together to make ginger bread houses.. We go all out! We have dinner first and then go to work!! I wasn't very creative this year, so mine was pretty boring..maybe next year! It's always so much fun to have these traditions to look forward to, and I can't wait until Jordyn can make her own!!
